Hydrome turns the solar power you'd otherwise waste into hydrogen, stores it safely at low pressure, and turns it back into electricity when the sun goes down or the grid goes out.
Hydrogen is made on site, so there are no cylinders to swap and no trips to a station. Five stages, one cabinet.
Tap water is filtered and de-ionised to protect the membranes.
≈ 9 L per kg H₂Surplus solar or cheap night-rate power splits the water into hydrogen and oxygen.
PEM, 25 kW DCHydrogen waits in a low-pressure buffer tank until the house needs it.
≤ 30 barA PEM fuel cell recombines hydrogen with air. Electricity out, water vapour and heat as by-products.
15 kW netA LiFePO₄ battery and hybrid inverter smooth the load and switch over instantly in an outage.
30–40 kWhHydrogen isn't free energy, and anyone who tells you it is is selling something. Here is where it actually earns its place.
Water to hydrogen and back to electricity loses most of the energy. Hydrome is a storage system: it needs surplus solar, wind or grid power going in.
Batteries are great for one night. Hydrogen tanks hold energy for days or weeks without leaking charge, which is what an off-grid winter or a long outage needs.
No generator fuel runs, no propane bottles, near-silent operation. The only exhaust is water vapour, and the waste heat can warm your hot water.
Sized for an average New Zealand home with headroom for peaks. Built from proven PEM technology, the same family behind Japan's ENE-FARM home fuel cells.

If you already have solar going to waste or you're paying for diesel, Hydrome is aimed at you first.
Rural and remote properties running on solar plus a generator.
Homes exporting surplus at a few cents and buying it back at thirty.
Households that need power through storms and multi-day outages.
Eco-lodges, farms and remote telecom sites tired of fuel runs.
We're at the start and saying so. Pilot homes come from the people on the list below.
Load profiles, energy model, supplier shortlist.
1 kW electrolyser and fuel cell, leak and vent testing.
5 kW system with battery and inverter in a real home.
15 kW system, third-party certification, 2,000 h life test.

Hydrogen needs respect. Every Hydrome is designed to recognised standards from day one, not retrofitted at the end.
AS/NZS 60079Hazardous-area zoning for the cabinet and its surroundings.
ISO 19880Pressure relief, venting and installation setbacks.
ISO 14687Fuel quality that keeps the fuel cell healthy for years.
< 1% volRedundant hydrogen sensors with automatic shutdown and purge.
Pilot sites and early units go to people on this list first. Tell us a little about your place and we'll be in touch as each phase opens.
